David I have used water soluble pencils but never as effective as you have . You have inspired me to look at using them again thank you .

Yes Dixie, they are great fun.

Very very effective way of "capturing" mountains. Impressive.

This is super, David. I will have to look for my watersoluble pencils, you gave me some ideas!

So glad some of you are going to have a go, you might find sketchbook type paper or hot press easier to use.

Wow - too beautiful!

Lovely painting. As others say- inspired to get mine out again.

This is a water soluble pencil sketch, this is a nice way of capturing a scene , instead of using normal pencil grades HB, 4B and 8B , where HB gives distance, 4B gives mid distance and 8B gives foreground. This automatically gives you distance in your sketch. Water soluble pencils come in just a few grades. You scribble on the side of the page and then use a brush and water to dissolve it.
