Reflections, Snowdonia

A great scene David and beautifully painted.

Thanks Dixie, the tree trunks were taken out with the point of a credit card as i painted the darker green behind the trees. It is more difficult to paint them negatively when painting outside because the wash dries quicker.

Lovely and interesting to read what you've written

Thanks Heather, yes painting outside can throw up some difficulties, but its a lovely thing to do.

A super scene, David and I love the reflections.

The tree foliage was put on when everything behind was dry and then the same mixes were used in the reflections on a wet surface which made them lighter.

Beautiful painting

Superb watercolour David. Love those reflections.

This is so nice, I love the calm and serene feeling, David.

Lovely tones and peaceful scene

Thank you everyone for your kind comments

Watercolour 20" x 16" this painting was done outside sitting on the bank of a river in Snowdonia with a group of students, to help show how reflections can be done quite simply. Luckily we had fine weather and the river was calm. It is a lovely memory as we now live in Devon. Greens: FU + Lemon Y + Light Red
