I shall probably do a watercolour in the New year of this scene as its grabbed me for a while now. It has an old rusty tin roof, which shouts out in a green landscape!!!

Excellent sketch , and I’m looking forward to seeing a painting . I agree re the pencil choice by the way , especially when out and about no need to carry a whole bundle.

9" x 7" B4 Pencil sketch done while i was waiting in the car for Liz , my wife who was at an appointment in Boots in Exeter. The image was on my phone from a walk some time ago in the summer. I have simpified the scene by removing some of the trees surrounding the barn. I find a 4B pencil a good all round pencil, instead of using say an HB for distance , a 2B for mid distance and 4B for foreground. HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone
