My aim here was to bring atmosphere into the painting ( sky and mist effect) and make the farm stand out. I also knocked down the dry stone wall to allow the viewer to get into the painting.

A really beautiful painting, David - I love the wheeling birds against the wonderful sky, the mists rising and the house set so well against the trees - super! ( thanks for knocking the wall down btw!)

Certainly has atmosphere, lovely delicate painting.

Certainly atmospheric David. You have achieved.

A smasher David and objective achieved

This really is a beauty, David. Love the atmosphere and the delicate colours.

A superb conclusion to your day out and sketch David. Some lovely effects, beautiful done.

Thank you every one for your very kind comments

Such a place of grandeur David and I especially love that creeping background mist.

I will have a look for this scene next time I am out that way. I love your treatment of the Tor and the cottage looks so crisp. Sadly many of the dry stone walls are falling into disrepair and not being mended.

I really like this painting David. The colours are so subtle and beautiful. It’s interesting to see which colours you’ve used too.

Watercolour 20" x 16" This painting was done last week from my sketch. See below. I also used photographs as well. The Tor in the distance is called Great Mis Tor. For the sky i used: Raw S, Cobalt B, Raw U and Brown M. Cloud shadow - CB + RU + BM, this makes a nice shadow colour in the sky when also using Raw Sienna and as well on other parts of the painting, it is also used for the foreground shadow as well.
