Love the colour and movement in this seascape! Congratulations!

Lovely fresh image.

Good idea ref the board prep David. I do the same and feel that way about the drying but always add a turpsy oil wash on the last dry gesso coat which helpts the paint move easier on the board too. This is lovely scene you have created.

I like it all, especially the textures and the way you have used the paint.

Many thanks for your kind comments.

Oil on board primed with gesso then coloured-10x8 inch. Idea taken from a photo of a few yachts taken on my mobile-then a composition designed with colours and sky from imagination. I find when I triple prime MDF board with gesso (making sure to leave plenty of texture), when I use oil paints the oil in the paint is quickly absorbed and the painting dries overnight, I find this helpful since I can then make adjustments the following day or earlier without a wait for the oil paint to dry. Apart from cost and convenience this is why I use these primed boards for most of my smaller oils
