A great watercolour...I could live with this, in the best of traditions. Beautiful.

I agree David, I also like to do a quick watercolour sketch before starting on an oil canvas. This is very atmospheric, helped by the rough textured paper. Lovely

This is lovely David. I could walk on this beach very happily and search for ammonites.

Georgeous traditional work. Lovely tones.

Brilliantly executed watercolour David, love the rocks and boulders.

Well they all liked it - and so do I. Love the use of grey-blue throughout this painting, which unifies it.

Lovely watercolour David.

Love this David, great rendering of the rocks and cliffs in super colours, great handling of the sea as well and putting the children delving into something they have found adds interest, as do the figures further along, really successful work

This was a 9x12 inch watercolour painted on the beach in Dorset last September. I later painted a larger watercolour and an oil from this idea, I work mainly in oils these days but, more often than not, I prefer to use watercolours for 'plein air' work such as this since it allows you to do a lot of quick sketches in one session.
