Well you have captured it, brilliantly, but you're not going to persuade me to go up, up, up, because I'm aware that the alternative to that is down, down, down - crunch. Even so, this is a magisterial painting.

I have spent a lot of my time in the mountains Christof in various parts of the world and I think you have captured the feeling of the hills perfectly along with that great sky.

Marchreisenspitze (2620m), Kalkkögel, Tirol, Austria. Watercolour 56x76cm on Arches 300g, rough. In Tirol we say mountains have a certain force. They can call you: up, up ! In dialect we say : "aufi muass I" meaning I nead to go up to the top! This mountain is calling and that's what I wanted to capture with my painting!
