Ötztaler Alpen, Tirol, Austria. Watercolor 50x70cm on Arches 300g rough, stretched. To experience a winter sunset high on a mountain summit is something very special. I tried to capture this very moment with my painting. The zig zag shapes of the receding mountain ranges created a perfect lead in to the picture. I used a limited palette of French Ultramarine, Light Red, Yellow Ochre and Alizarin Crimson for the this low light scenery.
