Whitby East Cliff,
Whitby East Cliff, Yorkshire, UK. Watercolour 38x56cm on Arches 300g rough. Whitby the base during our trip is the most interesting and atmospheric of Yorkshire’s costal towns. The town itself climbs up the gorge of River Esk on either side. The old town on the East Cliff is packed with narrow cobbled streets and tile-roofed houses. People strolled along the beach and enjoyed the late afternoon sun, just like I did when I was sketching the tranquil scene. In my studio I created this watercolor painting with my reference material and all the fresh memories.
