Lovely portrait Catherine, super use of watercolour, lovely skintones

Brilliant watercolour and I'm sure it's a good likeness. I particularly admire the detailed painting of the girl's hair

brilliant work .

So good!

Looking again at your work and I am captivated by the inner light or glow that you are able to capture in the sitters eyes - truly amazing!

i have just returned to my desk to find these lovely responses to my portrait. Many thanks to all you fellow artists. It is heartening to read your comments - we are (inevitably) so hard on ourselves!

Stunning work, as is the rest of your portfolio, I totally agree with both of Jane's comments. Just love your depth of colour and the use of highlights.

I agree with earlier comments; you've got such wonderful light in this portrait. It feels sunny and that in turn reflects on the personality of the subject - in my mind, at least!

Thank you Jane. Yes. Pleasant isn't very fashionable at the moment but my subject knew the painting was for her father and was therefore happy to sit for me. There is a small hint of reticence in her eyes - not many girls of this age are totally happy with their looks - but I think she was a joy to paint.

Beautiful work - the hair is amazing. Love the skin tones and the eyes are also wonderful and full of light and life.

your paintings are fabulous, love the light and tones, captured beautifully

This is really lovely!
