You have done a great job with this Carole. Lovely warm colours too. I can really see the improvement in your watercolours.

I do like this Carole. The flowers in the foreground are so lovely and the beach background makes a wonderful composition.

Many thanks Collette, David and Spencer for your encouraging comments.

I think it's really good - watercolour is a tricky medium and I certainly couldn't have done what you've done

It’s such a difficult medium to work with Carole, but clean, fresh washes of paint will help, and mixing less colours together equates to ‘less mud’! Anyway, you’ve got good strong hues going on here, nothing much to worry about … composition wise, the foreground plant is perhaps a bit big - it dominates this gorgeous vista! Considerably smaller, a bigger group and more towards the left side… Just my observations, since you did ask!

A great job Carole, well done.

Good watercolour painting Carole. It really doesn't need the foreground cow parsley type plant, which is a little imposing and distracting. It is actually dividing the beach into two halves when perhaps it would be better for it to be one long strip of sand. But a good painting non the less. Well done.

Well done, Carole.

That's lovely Carole, I especially like the way you've painted the sky and sea creating clouds/ movement. Maybe I'd blend in that horizon line in places instead on one distinct division, but I'm certainly no expert, I've always been happier painting flowers than landscapes, especially ones with no backgrounds!

Thank you so much Coral, Heather, Denise and Mia for your generous comments. Your comments are extremely helpful and illuminating Alan. Sometimes it’s so easy not to see the wood for the trees. Thank you for your invaluable advice George and Val for such great observations. I greatly appreciate your feedback .

No problem Carole, just minor things in general. You do need something on the left hand side, to act as a stop, because the sand and sea are tapering off in that direction!

A terrific seascape Carole.

Great job Carole. Really like the way you have done sky and the sea. Amazing richness of colours.

Thank you again Alan will definitely act on your advice. Thank you Fiona and Romila for your generous comments.

Well done Carole, lovely watercolour.

A great viewpoint - lovely, Carole!

I think it's a super painting Carole

Beautiful view there Carole. Some good advice in the comments for you, but I do like this for your rich colours.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments Gillian, Anne, Russell and Carole.

A lovely exuberance of color, dear Carole, and I agree re the composition! We're staying just a few miles from here for a few days and may be painting seas scenes whilst here! Love and God bless 🙂❤️🙏🌷🕊x🌈🌈

Than you Andrew for your your kind words. Do hope you manage to do some seascapes. The Northumbrian coastline has a wealth of fabulous views. Do hope you. Get to visit some of them. Happy holiday and God bless 🌈🌈🌈

Ah thank you Christine. Such a lovely comment.

An attempt at a gentle seascape in watercolours. I really feel uneasy with this unfamiliar medium and need a ton of practice. I see some amazing results on this site so advice from you great w/c artists would be most welcome. My own ref photo, 12” x 14” on 350 g rough watercolour, paper.
