A truly lovely portrait!!

Such a great Portrait, Carole!!!! Great to see how beautifully you used the pastels!

I don't know what you look like, Carole, but this has the same radiance as most of your paintings, and a lot of character! Great! Love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤🙏xx

Thank you so much David for your encouraging comments. Nearly didn’t post this as I thought it wasn’t good enough. Thank you Russell as you are such a splendid portrait artist and your comments are so valuable. Thank you Manoj. You are producing some delightful pastels yourself, recently. Thank you Andrew. I always enjoy your very positive feedback, which is a joy to read. Thank you Andrew

Great portrait Carole. Full of character and lovely and colourful.

Your use of pastels is excellent, Carole - your lovely portrait glows with light and warmth!

You don’t look unkempt at all, Carole. But I think we all share that feeling. A radiant portrait.

Beautiful work Carole, and great use of pastels, a medium not so easy.

Great portrait - honest and gentle but full of hope

Thank you for those heart warming comments Christine, Ann, Marjorie, Cesare and Rachel. They are very much appreciated🌞🌞

A warm and characterful portrait Carole!

A great portrait and done beautifully.

You look gorgeous Carole, nothing unkempt about you! I really like how you portrayed your hair with the soft touches of pastels.

Fabulous portrait, such a great effect with pastels. I like the hint of pink lipstick and the earrings are a lovely detail.

Lively image, lots of character.

Wow when I looked I thought your portrait was oils. Lovely pastel and detailed

A lovely sunny, colourful portrait, Carole, full of character.

I don’t use pastels Carole but I love the textures you’ve created in the hair and skin Such a warm, happy portrait

I’m overwhelmed by your lovely comments and you have all made me feel more confident about this work, as I considered it not quite up to scratch. Thank you so much for all your encouragement Tessa, Paul, Carole, Denise, Jill, Faye, Jenny and Diana.

Beautifully done - envious of pastel painters, because I rarely have success with them.

You are a beautiful lady inside and out Carole…..a lovely honest and revealing portrait. You have gorgeous eyes!

Thank you Robert for your lovely comments. Thank you Fiona for those beautiful words. You’ve made me feel quite tearful.

Pure radiance, so well portrayed. Love it.

I think this is such a good self portrait and shows real warmth and I love the skin tones

Your pastel drawings are amazing Carole, I find them so difficult to use. You look lovely.

Brilliant portrait Carole.

Many thanks to Fred, Heather, Gillian and Audrey. You are all so very kind.

I think you look absolutely gorgeous and done a fabulous job of the portrait. You have a beautiful heart which comes through in your communication.

That’s so lovely of you to say Romila. Thank you so much.

Love the elegant and contemporary feel of the piece. You're anything but unkempt, Carole!

This is so impressive Carole- your portraits have a unique quality.

Ohhhh, there you are. One of the most supportive painters friends on earth, and how wonderful it is to meet you whom you depicted As self portrait. I love your Clever decision of colours —a hint of blue in eyes, thin pink lip, white pearl earrings and glowing sunny colour as a whole. Truly great piece!

Carole, this is an example of a pastel painting that is SMOOTH! You know from my work that it's nearly all grainy. You say pastel paper, but what paper is it that has enabled you to produce this beautiful self-portrait?

Hello John. Thank you so much for such lovely comments. I use Pastel mat Clairefontaine. You can buy it on Amazon. Good luck. Absolutely love your work John.

I wanted to record a rather unkempt image of myself, when it wasn’t possible to have your hair cut and how scruffy it makes you feel. I know this is a very banal statement in the grand scheme of things but all these small tribulations contribute to a decline in self esteem. In soft pastels with pastel pencils on pastel paper. 12” x 14”.
