This line and wash sketch was made during a spell I had in the Pop up Shop in Sheffield's Winter Gardens a while ago (I returned during the World Snooker Championships last year and will do the same in April this year, with portraiture of the world's greatest snooker stars; more postings about this soon) It follows the rules of a typical single point perspective; all lines in the view which are horizontal, parallel and in line with the artist's view-point will obey the perspective rule and converge at the viewer's vanishing point. Rectilinear shapes which fall on the viewer's picture plane (in other words at 90° to the line of view) will remain regular and un-distorted (horizontals and verticals will remain true) like the glazed facade at the far end of the building. This isn't strictly true but it's a drawing convention which serves. Note the head heights of the 2 standing figures - I'm seated outside my shop. I used a 0.1 fineliner and the usual sketchers box of colours.
