Bundi Palace
Originally just a pin in a map to break a long journey between Rhanthambore and Udaipur, Bundi turned out to be yet another unexpected gem. At five floors, our hotel was at least a couple of storeys higher than anything elase in the town and we could watch troops of Langur monkeys constantly busying themselves across the rooftops below. A wooden ladder through the roof of our hosts second hotel gave access to a parapet from which I painted this, the Chitrashala Garh Palace which loomed over us. I used waterprook ink line and wash to save time as there was only just a little over an hour to sunset. Ben stood guard with a bamboo stick (provided) while I worked, to ward off any inquisitive (and inevitable) Langurs.
