A demonstration piece for an Art Society from my site photographs, this watercolour reflects the competitive nature of this iconic site. It might better be called Cafe versus Culture, with everyone present, whether a vendor of food or art, competing for attention. Paint is laid quickly and directly in both positive and negative to construct the shapes.
