Here's an interesting tale. The biro & pencil sketch you see is of Tudor Square, Sheffield, made in April 2016, (during the World Snooker Championships) A passerby told me he was with the TV coverage and asked me whether, if an idea he had came to pass, I would be willing to paint the interior of the Crucible, while cameras filmed me. I said Yes. He turned out to be Joe Gardiner, the BBC's producer of the event; it did go ahead and I was filmed for five hours, with three cameras in my face as I worked. The finished product was stitched together with famous moments in the Crucible's history and used to open the Beeb's coverage of the 2016 final. The editing was impressive, though little of me was visible (probably best). The QR code takes you to the finished video; or visit You Tube and search Brian Smith Artist Crucible Snooker - that should do it. Prints will be on sale at the Pop up Shop in Sheffield Winter Gardens from next week. Details at My Blog/My Art
