This is taken from a black and white photograaph of Times Square from 1949, with a couple of figures imported in the foreground and is one of those I shall be exhibiting at the forthcomingn Art in the Gardens exhibition in Sheffield's Botanical Gardens this weekend. I had a lot of fun turning a B & W into a colour scheme. In my head I saw a complimentary mix of colours to get the light and shade of it, with the added punctuation of the yellow New York taxis which were current even then, fitting in with the overall colour plan.
