And all very nicely done Brian. A tough challenge very well handled. Nice work.

Very good Brian, lots of detail but not over worked.

Wonderful work Brian, and interesting subject.

Such a complex scene handled with great skill and panache. Beautiful Brian.

Interesting painting Brian.

So difficult to achieve but you have done so - super watercolour, Brian

I'd seen this guy in three different northern towns in the space of a few months and he and his entourage invariably made a good composition. Add to that the abundance of colours, textures and individual shapes and you have a very seductive concept. The metal drum kit, plastic bottle, textiles, flesh, the polished black marble of the M&S shop front all offer different challenges. I've also separated what is going on in front of the shop window from what's behind, using higher contrast, (polarised mixture strengths including white of the paper / more found edges / longer time lapse between marks), greater colour variety, and colour temperature (cool outside/warm inside the shop) By comparison the window display is mellow, more monotone, and a more limited palette. The white gouache in "M&S" sinks into the watercolour, making it distinctly part of the shop front plane. An interesting and enjoyable piece. Watercolour 50 x 33cm
