Sunshine and Shade Palolem, Goa
I did do other things than lounge around on a sun bed in Palolem but this aspect from our beach bar / restaurant with it's daily variations and folk half in and half out of shadow, kept catching my eye. The basic drawing uses an everyday 2B pencil for the layout and minor rendering. For the darker bulks I blocked in with a 6B Pilot Croquis clutch pencil, which I also use for caricaturing at weddings and bar mitzvahs. The fine, light strands, in palm trees and the like, are reserved by judicious scoring of the piece with my finger nail before applying the Croquis
