I parked myself next to the surf for this painting, on the turn of the tide to buy more time. It's the beach hut cafe where we ate breakfast each day, fifteen metres nearer to the beach than our wooden hut. Painted on St Cuthberts Mill Saunders Waterford 300gsm bond aed block using a No. 12 round brush from Major Brushes, and my Winsor & Newton sketchers box, with it's 12 hand-picked colours; warm and cool red, warmnd cool yellow, 2 warm and 2 cool blues and 4 earths, with white gouache in my pocket just in case. Interestingly, our hut was previously occupied by Princess Eugenie, holidaying incognito..
