Such a hint of spring coming soon Bobbie. I like the textures you have created and the elegant blooms.

Three nice postings Bobbie , this is my favourite one .

Another lovely mixed media painting - I love hyacinths too

Three good posts Bobbie, I also think this is my favourite.

Three lovely pictures Bobbie, nicely done.

Thanks all. Of the 3 pieces I posted this morning, this is the one I was least sure of - so it's nice to know Paul and Andrew like it best. It almost went in the bin after I finished the acrylic layer, but adding the oil pastel has added some definition. The hyacinths are still hanging in there, and they smell wonderful.

This is my favourite too Bobbie - I love the blues and browns and the bold drawing.

Well rescued Bobbie! I love the scent of Hyacinths, and their cheery appearance at a dark time of year. Beautifully painted.

Really good rescue Bobbie.

Thank you Sarah, Fiona and Sandra.

I always grow hyacinths for Christmas - which despite my best efforts, usually bloom 3 or 4 weeks after the festivities are over. Mixed media (acrylic and oil pastel) on Jacksons 22 x 30 inch medium rough eco paper. I was experimenting with this deckle edged paper, which is made from recycled cotton. It is very stiff and textured and didn't like water based acrylic paint, so I let the paint dry and used oil pastel to add definition as a rescue job!
