I was trying a new support today - thick plywood primed with 4 coats of clear gesso - and using up some leftover Michael Harding oil paint from yesterday. These weathered trees took my eye when my husband and I followed a bridleway across the Lizard Downs in August 2021. I had Julia Alvarez's poem "Last Trees" running through my head while I was painting them.
