Thank you all for your kind comments. Everything was a bit rushed on the day. I was later than the others getting to Herbiest Croft and I had to be away by 3.30 in the afternoon, which only gave me 3 hours to work on this piece. It feels a bit rushed to me!

I was out plein air painting with the Friday Group at Hergest Croft Garden in the Welsh Borders on a grey day that was threatening rain, so I chose to paint artichokes and sweet peas in the kitchen garden in soft pastel and pastel pencils on grey A3 Canson MiTientes paper.
