Your distinctive style always stands out Mick - nice one

Over the hills and far away....I always want to take a walk through your pics, Mick.

Well done Mick love this road going over the hills and off into the distance

Love all the texture in this painting and the composition.

Nice one Mick. Travelling along that road there are all sorts of lovely shapes and colours!

Your paintings do tend to be journeys of exploration, in a world all your own. Like this one - keep fooling around!

As usual, your distinctive style and use of colour stand out. Great.

Mick, how do you achieve the fine line definition when using pastels? Do you outline in hard pastel and follow with soft?

Thanks for the visits and comments Folks. John, for the fine work I sometimes use hard pastels, or/and pastel pencils, or dark charcoal pencils, here I used hard pastels, I will outline and fill, and redefine the lines after, often just tapping on them with my fingers to blur any hard lines I don't want. I generally never rub and blend the final layers, although I will blend the initial layers to establish a colour theme. best Mick

More fooling around. Pastel painting from old holiday photos from the mid eighties. We stayed at Minehead, but travelled all over the area, often straying into Devon. Thinking on it, this could be called, The Road to the Sea, turn right at the end and the road foillows a cliff side road down to the sea, I think this most likely to be Dartmore. Unison soft pastels, Rowneysoft pastels, Rowney hard pastels on Sennellier pastel card, mouse grey, original painting 12"x9".
