What's not to like Brian? The sky is super, the foreground so pretty and the trees are so realistic. I think you are being too critical of yourself!!! I like it very much, in fact, all your work is very skilfully painted whatever the subject.

its lovely Brian looks like a lot of work went in but worth it for this result

I love this Brian, makes me want to get my walking boots on and go walk about.

Thank you very much indeed, Margaret, Dennis and Lucy, for the more than encouraging comments. I wonder if I've been looking at this painting for so long that I've failed to be objective. I finished it today but have been clipping away at it for some time. Thanks for the nudge, Margaret. I think we are maybe too critical of ourselves but sometimes you can't help it. Really pleased you liked this one. Well, Dennis, I honestly nearly ditched this one and thought I'd see what you guys thought before subjecting it to eternal storage. I'll think again. I love it when a painting or poem evokes that kind of feeling, Lucy. Thanks for letting me know it had that effect. Best to all Brian

That's very well done.

Thank you very much for the supportive comments, Timothy. Appreciated. Brian

I think it's lovely Brian, be such a pity to ditch it.

Love the strong foreground and a nice sense of distance, and the sky just lovely, making me yearn for warmer days.

Thank you, Sandra and Andre for the very encouraging comments. I won't ditch it now, Sandra. I'm pleased I decided to post this one to see how it would be received. Just goes to show. Ah, those warmer days are on everyone's mind, I think. That last snow fall took the wind out of my sails. LOL Best to both Brian

I really love these views that make you feel as if you lying in the grass Brian, so beautiful.

Excellent painting Brian, your composition is spot on just enough detail in the foreground and the eye being taken to the gap between the trees.

Thanks a lot, Caroline, for the lovely comments. Appreciated.

Thanks you very much, Barry, for the great comments, especially regarding the composition. I just wasn't sure if it was working, or not. Glad I posted it now. Brian

Mmmm....lazy, hazy summer days, the bees buzzing and the birds singing.....can’t wait! Like your snow scenes Brian, it has that still, breathless peace and quiet. Looking at it has warmed me up a treat! Lol

Thank you very much, Fiona, for another super visit. Always appreciated. That was pretty much how I was feeling. Something to warm me up and somewhere peaceful to walk sounds good to me. Brian

This is England! Where else in the World would you find a field so beautiful! Brilliant work.

Wonderful painting Brian, and beautiful foreground.

Thank you very much Fred and Cesare, for the kind comments. Appreciated. Yes, this is England, Fred, loosely based upon the foothills around Kendal, Cumbria. Got to love Cumbria. Delighted the foreground worked, Cesare. I'm never EVER sure. *smile* Best to both Brian

An upland wildflower meadow, oil on canvas, 40 x 30 cms. I'm not sure about this one at all, so please feel free to let rip. It's mainly the composition that bothers me most. I started with a loose acrylic sketch then dived into the oils.
