I know that feeling - I'll just add a bit more to that light😊. Well I can't see how you could improve on this. The light on the snow has a lovely warmth, contrasting, as it does, with those gorgeous cool blue shadows. It's obvious that the snow is fresh and soft ( no footprints, see? Elementary MDW ) and the magpies are a great touch. Now Brian, back to the summer!

Love this Brian great painting !!

Thank you very much, Marjorie and Linda, for the generous comments, especially as this painting has been up before, as I tinkered with the light and shadow. Appreciated! I think it's cleaner and brighter now, at least that's what I was hoping to develop. A fresh fall indeed, Marjorie, and not a footprint in sight. Deep and crisp is the name of this game. Delighted you liked the mag's. They were niggling away at me every time I looked at all those potential perches. Thanks for mentioning them. "Now Brian, back to the summer"! ...Laughed at this. *smile* I'm half way through a new pastel (stopped for the footy) and it's definitely a summer one. Best to both Brian

A beauty, Brian. The shadows are marvellous.

Thank you very much, Seth, for the kind comments. Appreciated. Delighted you liked. Brian

You've really captured this glorious scene so well Brian, wonderful.

Thank you very much indeed, Alan, for the generous comments. Much appreciated. Brian

I don't remember seeing this on the gallery but then they go off the pages so quickly it's hard to keep up sometimes, you paint snow scenes so well I find them daunting but you make them look so easy. I love the addition of the magpies, a lovely crisp scene I hope we don't see for a while to come lol 😀

Last snow one for the season, Linda! I promise. (I think) Thank you very much for the more than generous comments. Nearly fell off my chair. Thank you! I know what you mean about paintings slipping off the front pages. It happens to me all the time, when I can't remember previous posts from the other artists, and it really IS difficult to keep up. Still, we do our best. *smile* I'm really pleased the magpies make a difference. Appreciate the nod. Brian

Magical Brian, great shadows.

Thank you very much indeed for the "magical", Carole. What a lovely thing to say. Appreciated. Brian

I think I remember this one Brian, and its fabulous! Wonderful light and shadows and the magpies add that little something. Perfect. 😀

Thank you very much, Margaret, for the great comments. Deeply appreciated. I'm pleased as punch to read that the magpies are adding something, because I hummed and harred over whether I should or shouldn't include them, eventually following my instincts. I'm delighted you remembered the original and feel this version is working. Thanks again for that. Brian

I really like this Brian - lovely.

Thank you very much, Margaret. I have only just seen this reply (21 08 2018) and feel it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge your comment. I know you probably won't get to see this response but here it is anyway. *smile* Much appreciated Bri

Oil on canvas 40 x 30 cms. Last revision to increase the brightness and add my two friends. Apologies to those who have seen earlier versions. This IS the final revision. Just had to include the magpies.
