Great rendition, Brian. You've got the surf just right, and I love that distant cloud bank.

I like this Brian.

Beautiful painting and great movement in water well rendered, Brian.

Thanks, Lewis, for the encouraging response. This was painted from real life. I took the photo myself. *smile* Pleased you liked, Linda. Appreciated. Thank you very much, Cesare. It looks better if you stand back a bit, about 100 metres! *lol* My thanks to all Brian

Beautifully painted as ever Brian, really great surf, I like this!

You wouldn’t want to be dipping your toes in this turbulent surf Brian! You’ve captured that threat of the wild sea and spray against the rocks perfectly.

Thank you very much, Margaret and Fiona, for the kind comments. Appreciated. I'm pleased the surf looked dangerous because it was quite scary, in an exciting sort of way. There was a bit of a wind blowing and a rising tide on this clear day, which whipped the sea into a frenzy. I took several photos at the time and painted this pic from one of them. Thanks again Brian

Thank you, Maureen, for the "super". *smile* Much appreciated. Brian

Full of energy and very dramatic sea Brian I love it.

Thank you very much, Carole, for the warm reply. I'm delighted the energy and drama were apparent. I'll probably review the highlights and horizon tones once the paint has dried, but this is pretty much finished, I reckon. Thanks again Brian

Brian, thank you once again for taking the trouble to comment on my attempt at portraiture, I appreciate it very much. Hopefully with your advice I will improve! Fiona

You're welcome, Fiona. I was given all sorts of help and advice from a number of people when it came to portraiture, and I've still got a long way to go, but it was always the simple advice that helped me most. I'm in the process of drawing Tom Cruise, and it's a struggle, but hopefully I'll finish it today. I'll post it later if, even if it's a bit iffy. All the best and keep up the good work. Brian

This is where I used to swim as a boy and young man. On a calm day we'd dive from the rocks into ice-cold, clean water. Not on a day like this one, though, when the red flag would be flying from the lifeguard station. It's an oil on canvas, 40 x 30cms, wet on wet, fat over lean, representing the south end of South Shields' main beach, Sandhaven. This place is special to me.
