I think they're both wonderful, Alan. We all have our favourites and are often swayed by personal preference. This has great atmosphere as a painting and it has some meteorological (atmospheric) anomalies that really catch the eye. Lovely distance and delightful light. Brian

Following my effort earlier in the week I have had a go at a different time of day. Tackled in a similar way but have to admit it wasn’t quite as spontaneous as my first painting. I suppose it’s inevitable that as I had a preconceived idea of the subject it wasn’t going to emerge in the same way. Although I am pleased with the result I think it lacks the atmosphere of the other picture.
