Another gem, Barry. Lovely atmosphere to the painting.

Lovely painting, Barry. You've managed to catch the work ethic of the yard where hard and ongoing work is implied. The additional shadow takes the viewer outside of the painting, once again implying a great scene within the central theme. Beautifully subtle background trees. Brian

That cast shadow in the foreground really gives this scene a lift Barry, good thinking.

Beautifully done and full of interest, your 'fake' foreground shadow works perfectly, adds greatly, and looks like it should be there.

Thank you Seth, Brian, Stephen and Lewis, I am really pleased that you think the foreground shadow worked.

Another cracker Barry.

A beautiful painting, Barry. I can almost hear the hustle and bustle of the boat yard.

It is a fabulous place Barry, and you are so right in getting off the main drag so to speak. This is so interesting and next time I go I will check it out! Super work and that foreground shadow was a must.

Love the sense of walking into this, Barry. This is a place i would dearly love to visit, as a great Seago fan!!, so please paint me some more!!!Super work!

Nice and loose and busy! Super painting Barry.

Super watercolour Barry.

A Good piece Barry, like the sense of depth, and the near boat is very well constructed.

For those who have visited you probably remember being greeted by a collection of boats and maybe the odd Thames Barge and if you are like me want to paint this beautiful scene. However there are many more gems close by and turning around reveals a boat yard. This painting is made up from several photos I have taken and is probably a move back toward my more usual style that I might paint if I was on site. My initial effort was a bit flat and there was a large foreground area with very little in it and so I darker the right hand side of the boat and created a shadow that wasn’t there to create a little more interest.
