Bridge and Trees

What a great way to start my morning, seeing this painting! I love everything about it and wouldn't have noticed the crayons to be honest. The trees and reflections on the left draw my attention. The distant trees behind the bridge are just as great though.

However you did it keep doing it it's as fresh as a daisy and a beauty , one of your very best. I love this one and would not look out of place alongside the very best . Well done Barry .

Thank you Ibolya and Dennis, I am heartened by your responses and may use the crayons more often in the future. I have had them for ages and should have recognised the potential of a highly pigmented water soluble medium to pep up my watercolour.

It’s a lovely piece Barry , that idea with the crayons sounds interesting I must look into it

Thank you Sarah and Dermot, I will add that I feel it’s a handle with care issue and like adding white gouache less is more.

Beautiful colours and great reflections and washes 😀

Fabulous Barry, I like the whole thing immensely.

Superb work!

Great painting, Barry, full of the serenity of slow moving river. Lovely. Brian

Thank you Brian.

Wonderful watercolour Barry, the highlights on the main trees are a knockout.

Beautiful composition, Barry.

This is just gorgeous - love it - great trees and reflections and palette.

Many thanks Fiona, Cesare and Maureen, it’s really gratifying when you try something new and fellow artists like the result.

Should probably describe this as mixed media as I have used Neocolour wa ter soluble crayons on top of a watercolour.
