Cavendish Church With Pink Cottages
I did a demonstration at a local art club yesterday in which I did two half imperial paintings. The first flowed really well and I was very pleased with the outcome however, the second was a struggle. In my haste to get paint into the dry areas on the paper I got some of my tones wrong and ended up fighting hard to get the painting to work. I of course turned what was happening into a lesson about the importance of tone and tonal relationships in a painting but recognise that I wasn't fully prepared as this was a relatively new subject. It was taken from one of my own photos and painted on Bockingford 200llb rough half imperial paper.
