Love this scene Barry.

Very nice Barry and in mixed media it's great. As for oil pastel it's hard to use I've failed recently when I tried it .

Well I think its worked well Barry. It's great to experiment and I do try and mix it up a bit, but not nearly enough. I do like the introduction of oil pastels on this piece.

Thank you Sandra, Dennis and Alan, l love what I do with watercolour and I am still learning and hope I will continue to progress but want to expand my range hence these experiments.

Really effective piece Barry. We all need to experiment at times love this...thanks for your helpful comment on mine above. Coincidence? No! Great minds think alike lol

A little beauty Barry always good to experiment though your watercolor work is excellent. I have noticed Alvaro is experimenting with salt etc talent will always shine whatever tools are utilised

I like the casualness of the scene Barry. Leaves the imagination free to wander and invent a little.

Thank you Thalia I wonder what great minds think alike thoughts we will have next?

Thank you Dennis and Jim your comments give me the encouragement to carry on experimenting and if some of the techniques are ok with Alvaro they are good enough fo me.

Very different to your usual work but I like it just the same, some lovely colours and the composition is fabulous.

Thank you Margaret you know what they say variety is the spice of life.

Excellent work Barry it hands together wonderfully

Love watching the way your styles have evolved. Getting away from Steve but lots of excitement in this. I particularly like the warm lit window on the gable end.

Thank you Dermot as this is so different to my normal work it’s good to get feedback.

Thank you Alan, I really appreciate your observations as both Steve and myself think my work has evolved although it obviously still shows some elements of his influence.

A bit of experimenting using mixed media. I started off with watercolour used a bit of salt and when dry used some ink and finally I have taken a leaf out of Dennis Rounding’s book and used oil pastel. I want to explore the possibility of using a bit more abstraction in my work.

I started painting in 2004, I am influenced by Wesson, Seago and many of the great masters, more recently I enjoy the work of Steve Hall, John Hoar and Alvaro Castignet to name but a few. I paint in a loose style and try to simplify as I can. The medium I enjoy most is watercolour but dabble with…
