Up on the Down
A few days ago I saw a crop of trees on the top of Clandown which is near Radstock in Somerset, and decided to visit later on foot with the intention of painting the view. Yesterday the weather was good so I gathered my equipment and set out. On arrival I searched out the view but couldn't find a composition I liked and eventually changed a few elements which has resulted in this Plein air study. Probably used a bit too much burnt sienna in the foliage of the main tree which perhaps gives the impression that it's later in the year. Painted on Milford half imperial.
