Very good drawing, loose and free.

Nice sketch as is Barry.

Really like this sketch Barry

I really like the pen and matchstick combination Barry, good drawing.

Lovely drawing Barry. This could easily be my home town, but I don’t know the “GY” port.

A lovely sketch, Barry.

That's a cracking drawing, Barry.

Excellent drawing Barry

It’s superb as it is Barry, I love the sketchiness of the drawing.

I like this drawing a lot! The pen and ink lines with matchstick has formed the fishing trawler boat well with those darker blotches for the bow and the windows of the buildings too!

Thank you all, I am finding so much pleasure in sketching with ink and being able to share the results with a appreciative such audience is just great.

This is inspiring Barry, all the marks, lines and scratchy bits shout to me!

Great sketch.

Thank you Fiona and Paul as I am enjoying it so much I am sure there will be some more to come.

Fantastic drawing, love it

A great sketch Barry. Can you tell us a bit more? What paper did you use? What size is it? How long did it take?! You've certainly inspired me find my drawing pen!

Thank you Margaret, Romila, Maureen and Terry. Terry it is from my A4 sketch book on cartridge, difficult to say exactly how long it took but most of my paintings take about an hour plus a bit of touching up if I think they need it. This because of the detail would probably have taken a bit longer but not more than two hours. I am using a Noodler Ahab fountain pen with their Black bulletproof ink which is as good as waterproof, a word of caution some of the other bulletproof blacks are only water resistant and run. I use Indian ink with my matchstick. For my ink and wash paintings I use hot pressed or not watercolour paper and have had success with Saunders Waterford, Bockingford and Fabriano Artistico. Hope I have been able to help.

A combination of my new fountain pen and my usual sharpened matchstick. I may put on some colour washes later.
