Barry , if I am permitted to say this , the lighter yellow patch to the right of the tree swapped with the ochre patch between the trees might have had a stronger influence in drawing the eye to where you wanted - I find my eye jumps to the right but OK perhaps that is just my eyes ! I like it anyway

That's a lovely result Barry , I think you've stopped painting at the right time as it still has a lovely looseness to it

At art club last evening always a challenge painting in artificial light. I wanted to focus the eye between the trees and so left an area of land and the water light. Initially I had more light in the water lower down but decided to use shadows to dull it down and lead the eye into my focal point. I tried to include as many loans and found edges as I could to give it a loose feel. Overall I am pleased but should have listened to the voices in my head and stopped sooner.
