Pity about the rejections Barbara, know how you feel but this is a lovely piece and well titled.

Thank you I like it too. The informal response was it had been described as craft ! See the the first four on my mixed media portfolio. The way this society behaves is quite elitist, rude and not realty one where I would be happy anyway, so no loss! It will only improve if the member open their eyes to how they treat fellow artists.

Isn't it strange - I belonged to a society in Leicester (in fact I was treasurer for some time) which also had delusions of elitism but from the other end of the spectrum - my main output at the time was more traditional watercolours which were somewhat beneath them - or at least that was how I was left to feel. Needless to say I am no longer a member. Anyway your work whatever genre is a delight - hope to see you becoming a regular poster to the gallery.

This society clearly see it self as top end professionals. If they were that good they would be more open and a lot more courteous. Their systems are poor and I am planning my letter of complaint. It's hard to change things unless you are on the inside but I know some of the people who they have accepted and they may be able to change things. So their rejection of me was probably good as I am able to stir the debate, if you want some fun read my facebook... I have gathered enough views to be confident in my stance. I just hope the whistle blower who gave me the feedback does n't get any flack.. Artists have a responsibility to respect, support and encourage their fellow artists. Life is tough enough as it is. Sorry to hear you also experience difficulties....watercolours are the hardest medium in my book. Thank you for your support and encouragement, will post more, likewise?

Having had my mixed media and 3d printing pen work rejected by a local art society with the feed back that had I submitted some of my mor traditional classical work I would have been accepted! So now I am thinking what would have fitted the bill....looking through my past work thinking are there four similar ones I could have used. This is one of my favourites....oil on canvas. Pepi the goat herd grazing his herd, relaxing under the tree and looking out to the med. This one is in my personal collection.
