Yup, I can see why it sold: I must investigate this 3d printing pen, which at present means nothing to me at all; sort of stuck in the past, I'm afraid..... it's a miracle I ever discovered acrylic....

The 3d printing pens are like glue guns nothing remarkable really. You put the filament in one end and it comes out as molten hot plastic at the other that soon dries in the air. You can sculpt with it and draw in the air but it's a bit fine so I create the shapes I want flat and then incorporate it in my paintings. If you look at buying one go for a second generation one or wait till the lix pen becomes available it's smaller, lighter and more like a pen. The creopop will soon be available, it was a kickstarter crowd funded project and uses ink which dries solid in the air. I am a mixed media artist so for me it's a tool and another medium but a local art society just rejected my work as too crafty and not traditional/ classical enough! Who cares it's challenging and fun Oh and prices of the pens are going down with more competition. You will find them on Google, Amazon and e bay good luck ..

I can also see why it sold - a super piece and you have aroused an interest in the pen. I must look out for your next exhibition - only live a short distance away outside Market Harborough.

Yes I noticed when I was reading your comments on a blog about groups. I had forgotten about the SAA group membership and insurance. I am a gold member and use it for my exhibition insurance and am also a Professional Associate for the SAA and run workshops and individual tuition at my studio in Lyddington. It was timely as tomorrow I am having a meeting about setting up a monthly worshop in Lyddington Village Hall. I also run Art in Lyddington annual competition/exhibition in Oct/Nov which might be of interest to your group. My next exhibition is with some friends at Victoria Hall Gallery, Oakham high Street starting 29 May and finishing 17 June do come.

This is another one in this series, it sold on the first day I opened the exhibition. It's an acrylic mixed media and the fine filagree work I'd created with a 3d printing pen.
