Delightful three paintings Barbara, beautiful detail.

I like all three of these Barbara full of atmosphere. How can you be turned down by an art society when you produce lovely stuff like these ? Must have been a lot of old fuddy duddies .

Thank you, It was a challenge to myself, to paint traditional & quickly. I have finishing them since I posted these and they sell at my next exhibition. My current work is the abstract 3d printing work. I take a theme and develop it every 6 months. I am keen to build up a body of work but have sold a few already. I think it's a cutting edge style. The pens are relatively new and may take a while to hit main stream. I like them because they are challenging, take some imagination to interpret and are huge fun to create so this is what I entered for assessment to join a society that sees itself as professional. They had just promoted Chila Burnams work which is very contemporary, mixed media but of course she is a name.! Mistakenly thought they would be open to my work! Their processes and attitudes to fellow artists are in my opinion very poor. They have 9 people assessing for membership. Seems I did hit a year when there were at least 5 ruddy duddies. I got informal feedback to say one person thought me work was craft and that had I put in something more classical/ traditional I would have walked it and have been advised that if I want to reapply next year ...this is what I should do....so I took 4 brushes and three canvases and got them to this stage in 3 1/2 hrs.. Really making the point to myself that these are relatively easy and quick unlike my abstracts which are process led and take a long time. I am coming towards the end of this theme so who knows what I will be doing next year...I think having complained about their procedures I will now be blackballed for ever. Not really bothered as wouldn't see it as any credit on my CV except to the uninitiated. It would have been good to be on the inside so as to bring them into the 21 century. They really annoyed me professionally but did give me a new zest for development...so there is always a silver lining. Sorry to rant on a bit....do look at me 3d printing portfolio and please comment? Thanks again

Last of the quick paint 3 canvases in 3 1/2 hrs. Think they need to be more ethereal... So planning some pastel overlay
