What an interesting idea and so full of things to look at. I particularly like some of the smaller detaills like the bags of shopping under the table and the birds!

Hi Anni~ Quite cute...not quite your unique style...Children's book illustration a career option? Sort of growing on me..

I think this is great. I love Cafe Pomodoro. Imaginative and very well painted

What fun! Great colour and detail, most entertaining.

Lovely amusing painting with great style! I keep looking at it and and see something more. Especially like the "baby Tom" in mother's arms!

Great. Don't have to worry about hairdos and makeup here! Very original Anni.

Hi Lesley, Thanks for taking the time to view and comment on this one. It was a bit of fun and made a change from sensible work. I have always loved the detail in things since being a small child. Sometimes I got lost in the detail and failed to see the larger picture. Trying to find things on the page was always fun wasn't it? Warm regards ~ Anni :)

Hi Phil, Just trying out an idea and new medium. It came about by a art challenge. We were asked to create an artwork...the inspiration was some tomatoes. This is what came out ~ Best regards ~ Anni :)

Morning Jeanette, We have a huge tomato plant in our raised bed in the front garden here. I am just hoping we get some fruit. Glad this made you smile ~ Warm regards ~ Anni :)

Hi Ruth, Glad you like my fruity little number :) After I had finished it and realised there was far more detail I could have incorporated, nevermind...one only has a certain amount of time. Great to hear from you ~ Anni :)

Hi Roger, So pleased it made you smile. Yes I like the baby Tom too...I wonder if he will grow up to be a Super Tom? Appreciate you looking and commenting ~ Anni :)

Anni. I love this. You have such a wonderful imagination. If I had an art challenge called \Tomatoes that's what you'd get - a still life of tomatoes!! Well done. This is great. And well painted too. You need to write a children's book now to go with the illustration. Perhaps you will be a millionaire! Jx

Hello Jean, If you had an art challenge and the inspiration was tomatoes...perhaps they might get sauce maybe? I was thinking a bottle of Heinz tomato sauce and a full English breakfast would have been quite apt for a still life...with the daily paper to one side. Sometimes it is easy to have the ideas, less easy to follow them through Jean. I did a short childrens book illustration course about 12 years ago at the University here, it ran for only 6 weeks. I wrote a simple story called Lucy's Lunchbox and the illustrations were done using paper collage. What I really would like to write is a ghost story set around the 1920s. I read a superb story called The Woman in Black by Susan Hill last month, and so wishe I had written it. Thanks Jean for looking and commenting, great to hear from you ~ Warm regards Anni :)

NO, Anni!! Tomato sauce means the end of your tomatoes!! It's like that advert on the telly about digestive biscuits and blackcurrent squash when all the little wheat crops or blackcurrents have their ambition to be a biscuit or a cordial - it means the end of their life as they know it!! More like a horror story that their dream job! The ghost story sounds a good idea. Perhaps you could do a film of it once it's written and use tomato sauce in the props!! (Hey maybe it's catching - talking to you has improved my imagination already!!) Jx

:) Jean, I agree re: the tomato sauce, after all this is quite a happy town. Recently twins were born called Cherry and Pip :) Did you know that some of the residents of Tomato Town are easier going than others, it is because they are acid-free I think :) It is best not to pinch out the lateral thinkers either. I had better stop here before they lock me away LOL ~ Anni :D
