Thank you Jim, yes that light and shade! It’s cast by a tree you don’t actually see in the painting - it took several passes to feel right. I think I got there in the end!

Thank you Dympna. I’ve painted a lot of big acrylic florals on canvas this Spring and Summer, so I am enjoying this Autumn challenge of painting much smaller and in oils on panel :-)
