My first still life since art college in 1965! The peonies are overblown, the bottle from Syria which I visited just before its war, the slightly squeezed lemon suggests it's been used for a cool summer drink .... or a G&T watching the sun go down! Surprisingly, in Feb 2026 this came 6th in an international 'Botanical' art exhibition, out of over 500 entries!
