Thanks, Lesley. This is the last thing I painted (official commission) ages ago and have simply been far too busy doing arty farty things helping art societies. Really must get some time for myself or I'll explode with pent up ideas!

That's a splendid piece of work Alix and beautifully executed .
I know exactly what you mean when you talk about about a physical craving when denied time for your art , I recently was dragged away from painting for nearly two weeks and as I paint every day it virtually drove me to distraction :)
I look forward to seeing what direction your art takes now , it's a thrilling experience just to create and I think us artists are a lucky lot :)

Dermot, thank you so much. I might achieve the lifting-of-a-brush today after months! As usual, things intervene and my watch battery has just died so a trip to town eating into the daylight time...... Artists are a 'lucky lot' but I do wish non-artists would take on board quite how hard work it is and not what they regard as 'such a relaxing pasttime'!

Hi Alix , yes you're quite correct about the hard work , I paint from 7 in the morning till till 4 in the afternoon on most days and sell my work at an outdoor gallery in all weather conditions here in Dublin , yesterday was freezing and one has to work hard to sell as there are several other artists competing for the same customers .
I do get a lot of customers remarking on what a great way to make a living as its a pastime and a very leisurely way to make a living !
A fair amount of people also ask how long a painting took which always baffles me :)

Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my latest and I wish you a very happy Christmas , Dermot
