Christine, Karen and Heather: thank you so much for your lovely comments. It's been so very dank and dark for weeks and I really needed to get it finished to cheer people up with a summer/dreaming of holidays painting. Very hard to do as acrylic dries darker and drove me mad trying to compensate for that. As for the foliage, equal insanity and a slight bit of artistic licence with the leaves or I would have got too fussy. Today is a perfect painting day, for once, but I have other things to do away from the studio.....'tis ever thus! Hope you all have a good 2022 (fingers and toes firmly crossed).

This is a beautiful painting I think I recognise the place we went to an ancient village in Provence which was like this so well painted I can recognise it well done

Margaret, apologies for not replying sooner. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Provence has so many paintable villages but this one is small and rather special being on a hill surrounded by vineyards. Lots of nooks and crannies to attract artists!
