This is so refreshing. Your palette sings Alix and I can almost hear the gentle waves. Stunning work.

Very strong use of colour and contrast, good one Alix, what's the medium?

Terrific

Wonderfully vibrant Alix - a stunner!

Phew! What a lot of wonderful comments! Thank so very much! You really inspire me. The question regarding medium: it's acrylic. Being someone that doesn't produce as many paintings per year as some, I find oils take so long to dry and I need fresh stock quicker than the drying process. However, when I can I do use oils too. This is hanging on my wall until I exhibit it and I do find I look at it and feel I wouldn't change anything.....relief since is varnished and framed!

That’s beautiful Alix. I want to be there- in that weather!

Beautifully painted.

Wow … you have turned the ugliest beach into a glorious sight ❤️🥰 love this!

Thanks so much, Julie, Sandra and Danielle. Danielle, I don't find it ugly! It's so different at the various levels of tide and the colours are what makes it special. Mind you, my husband always says that I'm drawn(!) to rubbish subjects.... But don't they tend to tell a story?

This ever-changing beach is so fascinating to paint. Sadly, many of the pines have gone but the colourful sandstone cliff and the wooden piles stand firm! I've painted it several times and it still inspires.
