Linda, thanks for commenting. Light or variations of it make or break a painting. Not always easy to get right but this place seems always to make it a bit easier for the artist!

Thank you, Laurence. I haven't lifted a paintbrush since due to exhibiting or running an exhibition. Can't wait to get back to the easel! Kind comments really help the enthusiasm.

There are always lumps of chalk in the shallow water and, occasionally, higher up the beach if the sea has been rough. The contrast with the sand is what attracted me.
