Beautifully painted. Love this.

Love your boat paintings and the way you have painted the water Alix. The background light on the hills is also lovely.

Tones together superbly.

Super painting Alix, very impressive.

Thanks you so much, Denise, Carole, Stephen and Heather. Carole, not hills but dense trees. I decided to add a touch of autumn light to the tops as a symbol of these two old boats being in the autumn of their days. It was very difficult trying to create an accurate photo as there are lots of complicated colours. Not quite 100% but it gives you an idea. Really enjoyable tackling this. It had spent a few years as a sketch and notes in a pile of started/stopped/not-sure-how-to-tackle things and the pile toppled over! I then spent a very pleasant time sorting through it all, weeding out, putting into possible priorities and being reminded of places, things and people. To anyone else it might have looked like a pile of rubbish.....!

Excellent Alix love the details and colours 👌

Beautiful boats.

The colours of this are striking. You’ve really captured that rusty sienna.

Striking image and colours.

Bari, Diane, Diana and Linda, thank you so much. So good that others can see what is appealing in these old timers!

Wow!

Beautiful 'old stagers', always a winner with me!

Olga and Thalia, thank you so much for commenting. There's something about rust and decay that is interesting to paint....and of course it tells a story. I had a flatmate once who called her parents Moth and Rust! It came from the the Bible: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth: and rust doth corrupt". They all had a great sense of humour!

Just love the story/history contained in rusty and tatty things (other than in a self-portrait, of course!). The larger vessel was built in 1960, I believe, and is rather far from its home in Lowestoft.
