The view I saw of the Peter and Paul Fortress on arriving by overnight train from Moscow and keen to find somewhere for breakfast. The one paid for on the train mysteriously failed to appear! The river was less frozen than usual but felt I should show it more wintery but added some light patches of thaw.....artistic licence! Oh, and the dome was completely hidden under scaffolding and screens! Why is it that so often on my travels and scene asking to be painted is ruined by scaffolding or parked trucks?!
