Like the way your two figures immediately give the size of your great trawler Alan.

Once again a superb sketch Alan , the bit of added colour does so much to the effect. No great detail but you can see what it is and fill in the rest yourself, just what a good piece should do.

Excellent Alan and I agree with Chris, it's good to have the figures to give some scale.

Not just a bit of colour - but the RIGHT colour. I don't know what you'd call it, sort of Loch Ness Monster Brown, perhaps; but it works perfectly. Accuracy - well, accuracy is essential for technical drawings, but not for atmospheric drawings like this one; and anyway, boats are individually built, conform to a general pattern, but are all subtly different.

I hadn’t realised they were so big! Excellent as usual Alan.

Thanks guys… yes Marjorie, some are huge, some smaller, this is a huge one!

Very good work Alan. you make such intersesting shapes with the shadows and blocking in on the subjects you paint.

Like Marjorie, I hadn’t realised trawlers could be so big! Great sketching as usual.

That's a big boat! Fabulous drawing Alan.

Love the subject Alan, beautifully portrayed.

Fabulously expressive!

Lovely work Alan. An interesting subject from memory; I’m impressed.

Beautifully sketched, as usual.

Lovely work Alan.

Great detail especially as you drew this from memory Alan.

From memory so no degree of accuracy… but that’s largely irrelevant to the majority of my work. My usual rapid ‘gung-ho’ approach, expressive perhaps!
