Stillman & Birn Delta sketchbook, which has rather nice off white, perhaps verging on cream paper!

Excellent subject and sketch work Alan , I’m certainly with you on the Maritime theme it’s defiantly my favourite.

Alan there's so little here and yet there's so much to see! How do you do it?

I agree with Russell, very clever indeed

Thanks guys… including a wonky Big Ben!

Effortless looking yet so skillfully portrayed Alan to the eye.

Lovely and loose style, very effective.

You get your tonal values spot-on, Alan. Not and easy thing to do in such a short time. I've had a look at the sketchbook you use, they do have a lovely texture and tone to them. Not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

I just love the simplicity of this image Alan.

I like the simplicity of this.

Lovely Alan.

An effortless sketch!

Thanks guys, it could make an oil painting at some stage…such an iconic view of course!

I agree with Russell too, less is more. Beautiful work

Superb Alan!

Simple and very effective Alan

Maximum impact with minimalistic paint strokes. Very clever Alan.

Very effective, Alan. We all paint Thames Barges in East Anglian locations, don't we, but this was their destination in their working days.

Lovely layered landscape Alan!

Just finished this quick sketch so still wet! Maritime subjects are undoubtedly my favourite - more of a tonal series of washes this time, with just a touch of pen work!
