So much to look at in this painting Alan. Love the sepia tones and the excellent composition. Fantastic!

It's a beauty Alan love it

Love the strong tones and counter changes Alan and the dry brush strokes really crisp up the foreground.....smashing piece!

Another gem, Alan. Limited palette works really well

What makes it for me is the dry bush work in the water - a master touch.

Another beauty Alan, the opaque White highlights work well, as does the drastic change in tone and colour from foreground to distance. Has a very Hilderish feel to it.

Fantastic glowing painting - you're brilliant with a pen in your hand - something I really envy. Superb work.

Many thanks to you all for some encouraging comments. Thea, thank you also, it is a rigger brush I mainly use to draw the whole thing in first. I find it gives me a bit more scope than a pen, worth having a go, you can get a great variation of line.

Love the glowing colour of this one Alan, the dry brush work in the foreground and of course, those well placed pen lines.

Very impressive Alan. I love all those warm sepia colours. I particularly like the effect of distance , the greys and whites add another interesting dimension.

Thank you Louise and Marjorie.

Excellent Alan. How you distribute your darkest tones gives a lot of strength and drama to your painting. Very impressive pen and brush work. Like it a lot.

Your recent series of paintings have been super Alan - I should have commented on them before now! I love the restrained colour palette and the detail in this one in particular. There is something in your paintings that reminds me of some of the lovely work of John Piper. You have a super gallery of paintings.

Thank you Gudrun, Dympna and Julie for those comments, always welcome. Julie, glad you like the series.

Complicated looking bridge Alan but you have captured it well, really clever drawing. Great Recession with interesting skyline.

There is no end to your talent Alan, this again is just fantastic!! So much to look at and lovely shades of sienna.

Love the strong compositional bones of this piece, Alan - the powerful lines that lead the viewer into the paintings, the repetition of shapes and lines and the superb highlights, strategically placed. Excellent stuff!
